One of the most intriguing games to release this year is The Pathless, which is developer Giant Squid’s follow up to the highly acclaimed Abzu. In addition to being released for the PlayStation 4 and PC, the game will also be launching alongside the PlayStation 5 on November 12, making it an official launch title for the new console. To coincide with this, the game’s publisher, Annapurna Interactive, announced that anyone who purchases the game digitally for the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will receive the game for the other respective console at no extra cost. On top of that, they also revealed some awesome looking physical editions that will be available on December 8, one of which is being made by the well known limited release company iam8bit.
As we already mentioned, The Pathless is coming out for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, both of which you can pre-order through the PlayStation Store right now. The game will also be coming to PC exclusively through the Epic Game Store, and for iOS devices on the App Store. You can pre-order those through their respective stores right now as well. For those interested in the Apple Arcade, The Pathless will be part of this subscription where you will need to pay $4.99 a month in order to keep playing it.
The special physical edition by iam8bit is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 version. This edition comes with the game, a beautiful reversible cover art, a foldout poster, and six collectible trading cards. As we stated earlier, this physical edition won’t release until December 8, well after the digital version comes out. In addition, there will be a standard physical edition that some retailers will be selling, but without the foldout poster. The other sweet physical release through iam8bit is The Pathless Soundtrack that comes on 2 vinyl records. The game’s music was composed by well-known composer Austin Wintory, who is also known for composing Journey and Abzu. The soundtrack won’t ship until sometime next year.
The Pathless will officially launch on November 12 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC through the Epic Games Store, and iOS. The physical and physical special editions will launch on December 8.
