Today developer Obsidian Entertainment released their second and final story expansion for The Outer Worlds, Murder on Eridanos. This expansion is following the previous Peril on Gorgon expansion that was released back in September of last year. The expansion is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, and PC. A version for the Nintendo Switch will release later this year. For newcomers, The Outer Worlds is an action RPG that takes place in the Halcyon star system, which is dominated by ultra-capitalist megacorporations.
The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos takes place in the skies of Eridanos, a collection of chained together asteroid islands, as players try to solve the murder of Halcyon Helen, the spokesperson for Rizzo. The different locations to explore amongst these islands are unique and include places like the Grand Colonial Hotel and Purpleberry Orchards. Players will use a new item called the Discrepancy Amplifier in order to investigate and reveal inconsistencies in crime scenes. As players progress different dialogue options and quest routes will open up to them based on their actions. Murder on Eridanos also raises the player’s level cap by three, giving players more options for skill customization. Three new science weapons have been added in the expansion, including a new gun called The Needler.
The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos is now available on PlayStation 4, Playstation 4 Pro, Xbox One, and PC for $14.99 USD. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass users can receive a 10% discount on the Murder on Eridanos expansion. The Nintendo Switch version will launch later this year.
