It’s the worst thing that can happen with any controller, your playing one of your favorite games and your avatar begins to do things that are seemingly out of your control. It seems to be the joystick, and no matter how much you wiggle it, clean it, and try other strategies, the drift continues to happen. Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons were littered with this issue so much so, they were allowing owners to turn in their Joy-Cons to get fixed. Looks like Nintendo now has bigger fish to fry, as it seems the new Nintendo Switch Lite is also suffering from the drift.
Nintendo’s Joy-Con drift has become quite a known issue. Players reportedly find their characters moving on their own even when they have their controller sitting idle. Even when it became a class-action lawsuit, owners were still turning in their controllers and having to wait several months for a fix along with a hefty sum that was needed to be paid. Once the issue became more apparent and widespread, Nintendo began fixing controllers free of charge, even if they surpassed the warranty period.
With the new release of the Nintendo Switch Lite, many were safe to assume that Nintendo put all their ducks in a row and made sure the miniaturized system with non-detachable controllers would not suffer from this issue. Unfortunately, that is not the case already, Switch Lite users seem to be reporting the same Joy-Con drift issues with the new model and are joining the cause to get their Switch Lites fixed.
If the problem has flared up this early on, it is likely this will become a widespread issue just like the Joy-Con controllers. As for now, Nintendo has not commented on the issue at hand so stay connected with MXDWN Games when more info comes in.
