According to Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, the next PlayStation event is coming next month. The last PlayStation presentation was earlier this year with State of Play that featured looks at Stellar Blade, Dragon’s Dogma II, Judas, Sonic X Shadows Generations, Rise of Ronin, Until Dawn Remaster, and a new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. Grubb says it could be another State of Play or it could be the next PlayStation Showcase.
On the Giant Bombcast, Grubb said that he “heard that there will be a PlayStation something, either a State of Play or a showcase, next month, in May.” This comes following the news of the remake for Silent Hill 2 receiving an official ESRB rating.
“From a third-person perspective, players explore the town of Silent Hill, interact with characters, and battle humans and creatures (e.g., Pyramid Head, mannequins, monsters),” the ESRB describes Silent Hill 2 in its rating decision, with the details sounding true to the original game. “Players use pistols, shotguns, rifles, and knives to kill enemies.”
Grubb says that he’s expecting the game to show up at the PlayStation event where a release date could be revealed.
As for whether or not it’s going to be either a PlayStation Showcase or a State of Play, Grubb said “I have heard that there will be a PlayStation something, either a State of Play or a Showcase, next month, in May so this (Silent Hill 2 Remake) is probably going to be there.”
“I’ve heard both a Showcase and maybe State of Play,” Grubb added. “It seems like it might lean towards Showcase, it’s definitely in that timeframe of when they did the Showcase last year.”
