The Last of Us Part 1 PC Requirements Have Been Revealed

At long last, The Last of Us Part 1 will grace the PC platform later this month on March 28, 2023. The all-time classic has been the talk of the PlayStation community since it originally launched back in 2013, creating a major frenzy at the twilight of the PlayStation 3 and further cementing Naughty Dog’s status as one of the industry’s best. With so many advancements in the past ten years, and with the advent of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the general consensus in the community is that the PC iteration’s requirements will be fairly demanding. Well, it looks like they were right, as PlayStation has just unveiled the PC requirements for the title, and in a few words; we’re probably going to need to build a new PC.

As you can see in the tweet above, the requirements are nothing to laugh at. For those looking to get the bare minimum and run the game at just 30 frames per second, you’ll need an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X/Intel Core i7-4770k processor. Everything else on the spectrum for this part is no big deal, however, once you get to the next three tiers, yes we said three, you’re looking at some substantial hardware needs. If you want to go all the way to the maximum, 60 frames per second with 4K resolution settings, you’ll need an AMD RX 7900XT/NVIDIA Geforce  RTX 4080, and 32 GB of RAM.

On top of all that, all of the requirements also state that you will need to have 100 GB of storage on a Solid State Drive (SSD). What this essentially means is if you’re still using a normal Hard Disk Drive, then you probably shouldn’t even bother looking into this title for PC. However, there is an upside to these bells and whistles. If you’re planning on using the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller, the game will be able to utilize the software’s haptic feedback, but only if it is in wired mode.

The Last of Us Part 1 will launch for PC on March 28, 2023, through Steam and the Epic Game Store.
