The King of Fighters XV Trailer Revealed, Launches This Year

Just the previous day, SNK announced that they were postponing the official reveal for their next fighting game, The King of Fighters XV. Turns out they only needed less than a day to work things out as they have just released the reveal trailer which is a very brief yet exciting showcase of specific fighters and what some of their special moves look like. SNK delayed this initially at the very last second with little no reasoning, but thankfully they were able to make the wait extremely short. They also announced that The King of Fighters XV will in fact launch sometime this year!

The trailer, albeit a very short one, confirms the return of several characters such as Mai, Kyo, Leona, K, Benimaru, and Shun’ei. All of these fighters seem to have been given a serious makeover in the graphical department, as each of them shined through with their entrances and special attack animations. The King of Fighter XV Producer Yasuyuki Oda and Creative Director Eisuke Ogura provided some insight for the game, saying that it will keep the same fast-paced formula that the series has been known for, as well as ensuring that the development team is going at their own pace in order to make the game as fun as possible.

SNK promised some more information on The King of Fighters XV sometime next week but didn’t specify what exactly they will be unveiling. We’re hoping for some more fighter reveals, as the previous iterations in the series are famous for their large and diverse roster, each one with a unique set of fighting skills to boot. As for the actual release, all we know for the time being is that the game is scheduled to launch this year in 2021, but a concrete release date seems to be a bit out of reach for now. Hopefully, we find out about that sooner than later, but either way, we’re excited to see what SNK has in store for us next week.

The King of Fighters XV will launch sometime this year, possibly on that new console that SNK is working on.
