The Good Life Delayed Until Spring 2020

White Owls Inc.’s has announced that their upcoming life sim game, The Good Life, has officially been delayed out of Q4 2019 to the Spring of 2020. The news came via an update on the game’s Kickstarter page from the game’s director and studio founder Hidetaka “SWERY” Suehiro.

In the campaign, we stated that The Good Life would be released in Q4 2019 and received support from you all. After a long deliberation, we have decided to change the schedule and extend the development period in order to deliver The Good Life to all our backers in the best condition possible.

SWERY would continue by stating it was “very important, heavy decision” that the studio had to delay the game. However, SWERY stated White Owls Inc. decided to delay the game “due to prioritizing the quality of the game above all else. ” He would also apologize to fans for the delay, but thanked them for their patience and continued support.

The Good Life follows the life of a woman named Naomi, a journalist from New York, who moves to a small British  town to help repay her debt. Naomi will solve mysteries around the town. There is also something going on that turns everyone in the town into animals. Even with the delay, SWERY states that development on the game is going well and showed off the improvements the studio has made in the little over a year since the game’s Kickstarter met its goal.

Along with the announcement of the delay, the Kickstarter update showed off plenty of new things about The Good Life. First, a graphics comparison shows how much the game has improved stylistically. There was also an alpha version of the game shown off. SWERY also announced that photography has become its own mini game. The studio has also made the map larger as well as adding more background details. They have also added more things for player to track Naomi’s condition including hunger, sleepiness, and beauty care .

The Good Life will release next year on PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.
