During The Game Awards, a new trailer was released for Gears Tactics, a turn-based strategy game set in the Gears of War universe. The game was first revealed at E3 2018 last year. Gears Tactics will be released on April 28, 2020, for PC on the Windows Store and Steam and it will be available for Xbox Game Pass (PC).
Unlike the traditional Gears of War cover-based shooting, Gears Tactics puts the XCOM formula within the Gears of War universe. The game is set before the events of the series and will feature a 40+ hour campaign and several customization options including the armor and the weapons. Players will play as Gabe Diaz as he and a squad will go on a journey of leadership, survival, and sacrifice.
