The Game Awards 2025 Breaks Viewership Record Again With 171 Global Livestreams, Up 11% Over 2024

Ever since The Game Awards’ debut in 2014, viewership has gone up each year. That record continues this year following the organizers of The Game Awards announcing that this year’s show reached an estimated 171 million global livestreams, up 11% over last year’s show which reached 154 million livestreams.

The 171 million livestreams were showcased across a variety of different digital networks, including YouTube, Twitch, Steam, TikTok Live, X, Kick, Facebook, and Instagram. The Game Awards were also broadcast globally across China on a record-setting number of networks including Bilbili, Huya, Weibo, WeChat, Douyin, Zhihu, DouYu, Baidu, TapTap, XiaoHongShu, QQ, Kuishou, YouKu, RED, HeyBox; in South Korea or CHZZK and Soop; NicoNico in Japan; and JioHotStar in India. Other Western platforms, including Twitch and YouTube, had 4.4 million peak concurrent viewers combined, which is up 9% from last year.

The 4K TGA feed had a 8% jump in YoY peak concurrently to nearly 1.4 million. The Game Awards on YouTube was up 9% to over 2.4 million peak concurrent platform-wide, including co-streams. Over 8,600 channels co-streamed the show on YouTube, which is also a new record.

More than 1.8 million peak concurrent users watched TGA 2025 on Twitch. The total unique viewer count increased 5% YoY. Hours watched increased 5% over TGA 2024, too. Co-streaming on Twitch shattered records with 16,500 creators sharing the show with their audiences, up 50% from 11,000 co-streamers for TGA 2024.

Posts about The Game Awards went up 12% YoY on X, with more than 1.79 million between December 10-12. There were over 60 million video views on X between the official broadcast and related videos shared on X. Authenticated viewer voting for The Game Awards increased over 10% from 2024 to more than 123 million, including the Players’ Voice award.
