With Halloween (all of October, really) just around the corner, there’s bound to be an uproar of horror games, and free horror games galore. With PS Plus members getting Friday the 13th: The Game for free the entire month, it’s hopeful to be assured that new games will be released for the spookiest time of the year.
And while it may not be a new game for some people, The Exorcist: Legion VR is wrapping up on PlayStation this upcoming month.
The game The Exorcist: Legion VR is the virtual-reality inspired horror adventure based off the hit movie The Exorcist released back in 1973. It is an episodic-style game with each chapter being scarier and more intense than the last, as well as putting our Boston Detective protagonist into more perilous situations than before.
The first three chapters, First Rites, Idle Hands, and Skin Deep have been out since late 2017. However Steam and the Oculus stores have had access to the fourth and fifth chapters, Samaritan, and The Tomb since April and August of this year.
But PSVR players need not wait any longer as Wolf & Wood, the creative and award-winning minds behind A Chair in a Room: Greenwater and The Harbinger Trials, have announced that the final two chapters of The Exorcist: Legion VR is coming to PlayStation. On October 9th, early in the Halloween season, Chapters 4 and 5 will released to PlayStation.
The fourth chapter, Samaritan, puts our protagonist and player into a failed quarantine zone in Haiti to figure out the death toll of health workers from an unbridled sickness.
The fifth chapter, The Tomb, wraps up the story in the Upper Mesopotamia Mountains, where our protagonist and player get to face the demon Pazuzu who will unveil the tests he plans to put you through.
As of right now, players can purchase the new episodes when they’re revealed on October 9 for $6.99 each, or the Complete Series for $29.99. But either way, PSVR players are in for a great scare this Halloween.
