While The Elder Scrolls Online has just released the next DLC pack with Murkmire for Mac and PC, the developers at Zenimax have brought back an annual event for all players. Heroes on all platforms will be held over until the DLC is launched on consoles in early November with the return of the Witches Festival.
This Halloween themed event has been running from October 18 and will continue until November 1. It adds one new quest and a temporary memento, the Crow Caller, that can be used once a day to boost character experience gains by 100% for two hours. Players can also transform into an undead monstrosity for a time using the Witchmother’s Cauldron that will be discovered at the end of the quest. During the event, players will have a chance of being awarded Runeboxes and Plunder Skulls that will contain unique Motif style pages, recipes, reagents, or costume masks.
These rewards can be acquired by defeating public events like Dark Anchors, Delve Bosses, Dungeon Bosses, Quest Bosses, Trial Bosses, or other World Bosses. Once a day per account, upon their defeat, a boss with drop an Event Ticket. These may be used to purchase an Indrik Feather from the new merchant in a character’s alliance for ten Event Tickets. It may seem not to have a use now, but more of these feathers will be seen in the remainder of ESO’s End-of-the-Year Events.
The rest of the year will be filled with events where Event Tickets can be earned to purchase Indrik Feathers. Once a player has acquired four of these feathers they can unlock the new Nascent Indrik mount for their entire account which is shown above. These beasts were introduced as magical deer creatures in the previous expansion, Summerset. If players wish to ride this steed they will have to be patient and partake in each event in the coming months.
The next event will be the Clockwork City Celebration Event running from November 15 through 26 and players must own the Clockwork City DLC to participate. This will be followed by the Undaunted Celebration Event on November 29 to December 5, which will require players to participate in Normal or Veteran Dungeons. Finally, the year will come to a conclusion with the New Life Festival quests running from December 13 through January 2. This overflow of events will present a pleasant grind and exclusive reward to consistent players along with the new Murkmire DLC.
