Today, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, more commonly known as E3, announced its plans to have an official award show. For the last 25 years, E3 has been an event that allowed developers and companies to showcase products. However, due to challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, last year’s events were cancelled, and now, this E3 2021 will also be an online event. The E3 showcase this year will be held June 12-15, 2021.
For the award show, nominees will be showcased over the course of the four days of E3, and top editors from gaming outlets such as IGN, GameSpot, PC Gamer, and GamesRadar+ will determine the winners at the end of the expo. These games are assumed to be the “Most Anticipated” games of the year, and hopefully, the nominees and winners of the showcase will fulfill players’ expectations. In regard to the award show and his excitement for the event, Stanley Pierre-Louis, President & CEO of the ESA, said
For this year’s event, we are collaborating with editors at some of the world’s leading video game media outlets to create the Official E3 2021 Awards Show, recognizing the show’s most anticipated games.
The internet personality Greg Miller, video game news host Jacki Jing and esports commentator and host Alex Mendez will host the live broadcast covering gaming news, interviews with developers, discussion panels, and more. The awards show will close out the exciting events of E3 and will celebrate the dedication of video game developers and publishers to create innovative and original experiences for the gaming community.
The live stream will be available on E3’s Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
