The Division is a highly anticipated game coming to Xbox one, PlayStation 4, and PC. Gamespot has this game listed as its number one upcoming game on their main page, so this can show that gamers are anticipating greatness (including myself) from it. This game was originally announced at E3 2013, but since that moment very little info has been released. Last Friday however, Ubisoft released their first podcast and gave us some info on the game’s Dark Zones.
In this podcast we learn that the Dark Zones are not necessary to beat the game or learn any of the story; they’re meant for PVP. You might ask, “Why would I want to go in there? I will probably just die a lot!” The reason is that loot in the zones is going to give you a better chance at finding some awesome items. Now looting in these zones won’t be the same in the other areas. You will have to go through a process called “extracting.” Till that process is done, you have a chance to lose the item if you are killed (well, there goes that stuffed animal I just found) in these zones.
Although Ubisoft have not said much about the loot, they did mention a small list of weapon types. Some types you can find are: Assault rifles, Light machine guns(LMG), Sidearms, Sniper rifles, and my favorite, Shotguns. Three developers are working on this game, and the one covering weapons is Red Storm Entertainment. If you know anything about this great company, you will know The Division’s weapons are in good hands, as they are the original developers of the Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon franchises. The other two companies are Ubisoft Massive and Ubisoft Reflections.
In this podcast they announced the release date. Are you sitting down for this? Good, because they have announced it will be in the year…2015. I know, cruel joke. If you listen to the podcast, you can learn a few things about the game and get some laughs. Like how people from New Zealand have problems ordering pizza in the States, how they are trying to research everything possible to make sure the game is realistic, and finding that perfect balance between realism and arcade.
You can find the podcast, by following this link, also check out the game play video from E3 2014. With The Division coming out this year and E3 around the corner, we are sure to find out more information on the game, so make sure to come back to mxdwn Games to get all your The Division and other gaming information.
