The Division 2 Title Update #4 Introduces New Specialization

Today, Ubisoft has announced that the next update for The Division 2 has been released. Along with all the adjustments made to the game, the biggest thing that this update brings is the new Specialization that players can choose from called “Gunner”.

The “Gunner” Specialization allows players to man a minigun with rapid-fire action which creates massive damage in short periods of time. The Specialization also comes with bonus armor when the weapon is drawn which allows players to sustain incoming damage from enemies. The “Gunner” Specialization signature skill is called Banshee which will confuse enemies, even when they are in cover. The  “Gunner” Specialization also comes with the Riot Foam Grenade which spreads foam onto enemies upon impact which stops them in their tracks allowing you to take them all down with the minigun.

Year 1 Pass holders have the “Gunner” Specialization unlocked immediately. If you are not a Year 1 Pass holder, unlocking the new Specialization involves Special Field Research. These are five stages of in-game challenges. Each challenge will have its own objectives and rewards. Year 1 Pass holders are able to partake in Special Field Research; instead of unlocking the “Gunner” Specialization, they can unlock exclusive cosmetic rewards which include Fisticuffs and Front Flex emotes, Charcoal and Detritus gear dyes, Rosethorn and Pineapple weapon skins, “Gunner” mask and the “Gunner” specialization uniform. During E3 2019 last week, The Division 2 was revealed to be a part of Google Stadia and Uplay+, Ubisoft’s new subscription service for PC. More information on what players can expect in the future was also revealed during the Ubisoft press conference. Episode 1 of The Division 2’s Year 1 will release in July and take place in the National Zoo and for the first time in the series, outside of a city. Episode 1 will also introduce a new gameplay experience that takes exploration, investigation, and logic to figure out what happened to a convoy that went dark. Episode 2 will come out in the fall and takes players to the Pentagon. Episode 2 will also bring in the second raid to the game. Episode 3 comes out early 2020 and will take players back to New York City.
