Today on February 21st, Cathedral Studios released a new trailer for their upcoming game The Bornless. The trailer officially announced that there will be a playtest running through March 1st and 2nd at 10 P.M. UTC time, which is 4 P.M. Central time and 2 P.M. Pacific time. Since this is merely a playtest, there is no official release date for the full game as of yet, but players can add it to their wishlist. Players can request to join the playtest experience through Steam, and the developers will notify the player when they are ready for more players.
The Bornless is a horror action first-person shooter game where players will face off other players at Farmouth Island located on the Massachusetts coast by playing as demons and wield Black Magick in a battle for survival.
This is what the Steam page has to say about the Survival Horror Extraction, “Step into Ritual Mode, a relentless PvPvE survival horror extraction that tests your resilience against demonic forces and rival players. Begin your harrowing journey in an isolated cabin and navigate through the dense, mist-shrouded forests of Farmouth Island. Collect crucial resources, tackle mysterious objectives, and survive the terror that lurks around every corner.”
There are three phases of gameplay according to the Steam page as well. The first phase is where players begin in a secluded cabin with their duo partner, which they will be able to build upon and expand, and they will have the standard loadout or the loadout from previous missions. Players will be able to explore the haunted land and battle against enemies and gather valuable items.
The second phase is titled as “The Ritual” and it says ” Use Incense to activate ancient ritual sites known as Gates, summoning events yield rare Sigils necessary for the final confrontation. Each completed ritual exposes you to danger, highlighting your location to rival players.” The last phase is to complete the ritual, invoke the demon, and hunt the players down before they find an extraction point to escape from the island.
