The Adventures of Tintin Game Adaptation Announced

French publisher Microids has announced a new partnership with Moulinsart in order to bring the popular adventure hero Tintin to video game screens. The new game will feature Tintin and his well-known dog Snowy (as well as other fan favorites such as Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, and Thomson and Thompson) as they work together in this action-adventure adaptation. The announcement describes the game as players traveling the world as Tintin as he tries to solve yet another dangerous mystery.

Players will be able to visit different continents while taking part in activities such as undersea diving and submarine explorations, with the announcement even teasing a possible trip to the moon with the duo. The game will be available on both console and PC, but there are no confirmations leaning towards a release date for the game. As Microids CEO Stéphane Longeard said in a statement on the official announcement:

We are extremely happy to work on this co-production! We have been willing to make this happen for quite some time. This announcement is the result of a creative process allowing us to define precisely how this project will take shape and the two companies will interact. This really is a dream come true for us. The Adventures of Tintin transported millions of readers worldwide and this opportunity will allow us to put our talents at the service of one of the biggest creators of the 20th century and its inked hero: Our team members are fans of the famous reporter and will do their best to pay this franchise a vibrant homage. We can’t wait to kick-off this project!

Other than that, many other details of the game are unknown. Microids is also known for other game comic book adaptations such as Blacksad and two Asterix and Obelix games, so the many fans of the Tintin comic series seem hopeful. The last time Tintin was in a video game was Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, which was released in 2011. According to the same official announcement, more reveals regarding the game title, artwork, and other details will be released soon.
