Temple Run to Become A Live-Action Show

Temple Run! The Imangi Studios game hit the scene in 2011 and took over the mobile game world, amassing over 2 billion downloads since its launch. A game that breeds a certain kind of focus and skill that makes you hungry for more, hungry to beat your high score. The kind of game where you think that sitting in a certain position or using a certain finger makes a difference in your performance because that is the degree of attention to detail that Temple Run brings out of its players. Anyway, for those who do not know, Temple Run is a game of obstacles, you are a criminal on the run, and you are running on a path. This path has lots of twists and turns, as well as cliffs, giant trees, fire, stones, and more. Your job as the player is to swipe your finger to avoid these obstacles accordingly. It is an incredibly fun game. Following the success of the original Temple Run, Temple Run 2 and Temple Run 3 was launched. Now Temple Run is running to new places in creating a live-action show!

Like that of American Ninja Warrior. Temple Run is going to be turned into a live-action game, in the form of a reality television show.  A. Smith & Co. Productions, producers of the show like American Ninja Warrior announced that it is developing a live-action competition show based on Temple Run. According to the announcement, the Temple Run live-action competition series will have participants doing an actual Temple Run course with twists, challenges, and obstacles, just as in the mobile game.

“Our team is always looking for ways to elevate our IP into exciting new formats,” said Walter Devins, CEO of Imangi Studios, as part of the same announcement. “We’ve built a passionate global community around Temple Run, and this partnership will give our fans an experience unlike ever before. A. Smith & Co. creates epic shows that inspire people to push their limits to reach greatness, and we can’t wait to see them do the same with Temple Run.”

This news is monumental for the world of mobile games. Why? Because it means that mobile games are resonating so well with their players that they are being included in larger platforms, like that of television. It means that mobile games are here to stay, not only for the time being but for more time to come.
