Comic-Con 2014: Tekken X Street Fighter ‘Still In The Works’

This year’s San Diego Comic Con for Bandai Namco, attendees got to see great and all out display for Tekken 7, and got to hear details about the story, gameplay, and character design. Though, some people may remember back at the San Diego Comic-Con 2010, where there would be a crossover game, Tekken X Street Fighter making its way to fans. Though there was word from producer Katsuhiro Harada, that told fans that Tekken X Street Fighter is still in the works, and that he is waiting for the “right time” to release it.

Capcom did a crossover of both fighting games, Street Fighter X Tekken, which was released in 2012 and took on the Street Fighter fighting style to the game, and Tekken X Street Fighter would be taking on the Tekken fighting styles.

Katsuhiro Harada, mentions that due to the recent development with Tekken 7, then the other games, Rise of Incarnates, the free-to-play Tekken Revolution, and Soulcalibur: Lost Swords, there is definitely a lot going on in order to decide when would be the right time to deliver Tekken X Street Fighter.

Back in August 2013, we got to hear from Harada mentioning that Bandai Namco is still in development and not cancelled, and just isn’t the right timing. We got word again this weekend, through the translator for Harada and Tekken Designer, Michael Murphy, “It’s still in development, and it is moving forward, but that’s on the development side. So obviously, with all of the products, there’s that special timing that we need for that to have its own spotlight. So on the marketing side, it’s a special situation, but we can say that it hasn’t been cancelled, so please relax.”

Be expecting to see and hear more information from us and also a trailer released at this year’s SDCC 2014 for Tekken 7, which will be in an article soon. Also expect us, to deliver more news once we hear anything about Tekken X Street Fighter.
