Tekken 8’s Lidia Sobieska to Release on July 25th

Bandai Namco is finally getting the lead out, a little, with their DLC characters. After a bit of a drought after the release of Eddy Gordo people began to joke about how Bandai Namco “forgot about Lidia” since it had been several months since she was teased. But today they finally had a livestream featuring Lidia, a gameplay guide released by IGN, as well as finally announcing her release date on July 25th.

As mentioned, here’s the gameplay guide IGN did covering Lidia:

As the video mentions, Lidia appears to be a bit more complex than her Tekken 7 version, who was certainly on the easier side of the roster. The first thing Tekken 7 vets will notice is the return of her signature stances to Tekken 8, Lidia staggers her pressure using these various stances to lead into more mixups or plus frames. If you have an interest in playing Lidia I wholeheartedly recommend watching IGN’s video as it goes into relatively good detail of her options and buttons.

Here is the livestream from Bandai Namco that featured even more Lidia and went into even more detail about her for those huge Lidia faithfuls:

Also shown on this stream was a preview of some future content, including the 30th Anniversary Tekken Fandom Campaign, where players can submit cool or funny photos and customizations through Tekken 8’s photo mode to be shown off during Bandai Namco sites or events. Also showing up were some summer fun skins, fitting for the beach stage that will be coming with Lidia, featuring bikini and swimsuit outfits for various members of the cast, likely to be sold through Tekken 8’s in-game shop.

So that’s Lidia Sobieska, she’ll be available for Tekken 8 on July 25th. There was no hint as to future DLC characters, but if you want to hear the rumors on who those may be check out our article going over potential leaks for the Tekken 8 DLC roster.

I love video games and video game culture, as far back as I can remember I've not only played them, I've actively participated in their communities. I hope my history in this hobby and my enthusiasm for writing helps me convey news to you accurately and succinctly.
