The second season the WFH League kicks off on the 29th of September, featuring 16 newly announced teams. This season will focus on 3v3 Rocket League and Wingman Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO). Both games will see tournament of 8 teams competing to win an assortment of prizes supplied by sponsors. The WFH league is a corporate esports league, created under the “Work From Home, Win From Home” moniker. It features competitors from several different companies representing their workplaces across gaming tournaments.
Teams announced for Rocket League include the Esports Awards, Esports Insider, Excel Esports, GGRecon, Hiro Capital, Newzoo, Square Enix is Strange, and Square Enix GO. CS: GO teams are listed as AFK Creators, BLAST, DLC, Kairos Media, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Platform, TEAMS.gg, and Twitch. Things will culminate in a Grand Finals Day on October 18th for both games. Spike Laurie, Venture Director at Hiro Capital, commented on the upcoming season to Esports Insider, saying “…it’s a great initiative to help further stimulate and grow the esports industry… We’ll be providing some additional ‘venture capital’ themed prizes during this season…” The leagues inaugural season featured prizes from companies like Razer, Playbox, and G-Science.
The WFH League season 2 will broadcast live to their official Twitch channel. The first games air on Tuesday, September 29th and Wednesday, September 30th for Rocket League and CS: GO respectively. The league’s official charity partner from season 1, UK-based organization Special Effect, will also be returning as this season’s beneficiary.
