Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Coming in January

The Japanese role-playing game, Tales of Vesperia, was originally released in August of 2008, and Bandai Namco will be treating fans to an upgraded edition this coming January. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will revisit this anime-style story in high definition, with some new music, bosses, mini games, characters, and previously unreleased costumes. Check out Bandai Namco’s announcement video at E3 this year:

For those unfamiliar with the game, Tales of Vesperia takes players through a journey of justice with a young hero, Yuri, and the party that the player surrounds themselves with, which is comparable to the Final Fantasy series. It is the tenth installment of the Tales franchise that was critically acclaimed by the series fandom. Companions range in personality and skill lines: Estelle the noble woman, Rita the academic, Raven the archer, Judith the dragoon, and Repede the dog. This time around Tales of Vesperia will introduce two new characters available to the party. The first is Patty Fleur who is a young female pirate on a mission to find treasure and her lost memories. The second is Flynn Scifo who is Yuri’s closest friend, but also an Imperial Knight.

Players can also go a step further and instead purchase the Anniversary Bundle, which includes: the Definitive Edition game, a Repede metal casing, a Tales of Vesperia Memorial art book, and an anniversary diorama display case that includes a set of three acrylic characters. The acrylic figures will be Yuri, Patty, and Flynn, and an additional stage will be provided if players would like to order more for their collections.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is available for pre-order for the first time on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. It will also be coming to the Steam Store for the first time. On its page, the game is listed to be released January 10 with a January 11 launch on other platforms.
