Tales of Arise Sells More Than 1 Million Copies, Is Now The Fastest-Selling Title in the Franchise

Tales of Arise  finally launched this past week, and the game has been generally well received thus far. The latest entry in the long running JRPG series and the first since 2016’s Tales of Berseria, the game was fairly anticipated to say the least. This was further emphasized by the most recent tidbit of information from developer Bandai Namco Studios, who has revealed that Tales of Arise has now sold more than 1 million units world wide, less than a week since it launched. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, this makes Tales of Arise the fastest-selling entry in the entire 25 year old Tales franchise, a monumental achievement.

To celebrate this, the company has uploaded an extremely brief video on YouTube, 25 seconds in total, to thank the players for picking up the game. They also reveal in this video that the Tales series in total has now sold more than 25 million copies around the world as well. Keep in mind that the aforementioned Tales of Arise has just crossed the 1 million threshold in just under a week, and the entire franchise has now just hit this new milestone. It’s an unbelievable turnaround for a franchise that has inexplicably continued to survive all this time.

This is due in large part to the development team at Bandai Namco. Tales of Arise was created with the intention of revitalizing the entire series, and was comprised of long time franchise veterans along with some newer developers. Judging from these new statistics, it’s safe to say that they succeeded. As the year continues, it’s more than likely that those numbers will continue to grow exponentially, especially now that it’s seeing a wider audience. The Tales series has come a long way since the Super Famicom in 1995, and hopefully it’ll be around for a long, long time.

Tales of Arise is available now for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC.
