Take Over Organized Crime, In Atari’s New Mobile Game

Atari has announced the release of Goon Squad for Android and iOS devices. Available for phones, ipads and android tablets. Goon Squad is a collectible card simulation game in which you take over the mob through real-time battles and head to head strategy.

Aimed like a shotgun across several genres, Goon Squad appears to incorporate components of collectible cards, tower defense, social games, and idle games. Chief Executive Officer Fred Chesnais had this to say about the game;

Set in the illustrious era of mobsters and criminal empires, the gameplay in Goon Squad is equal parts lighthearted and mischievous. With this launch, Atari builds on our experience in the simulation game market and our growing mobile portfolio, while taking a note from the increasing popularity of digital card games.

Goon Squad promises to offer many gameplay elements including:

  • Head-to-Head Brawls
  • Family Business Building
  • Leaderboards
  • Last Man Standing 4 player arenas
  • Base defense and attacks
  • Turf Wars
  • Slot machine mini-game to gain more cards.

Goon Squad is free to play, and with it’s social elements and card leveling mechanics, it could prove an addictive distraction on our phones. You can get it for iOS here, or Android here.
