At PAX East 2014, the studio co-founder and president of Capybara Games Nathan Vella, announced and told Joystiq that Super Time Force, the time-traveling shooting platformer, will release in late May or early June on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game has been in development for sometime now, and is currently in Microsoft’s possession. The game will be self-published via ID@Xbox program. Vella said “It’s out of our hands until Microsoft certification is done with it, but it’s not the hardest game to certify because it doesn’t have any multiplayer and it only has a single leaderboard.”
Super Time Force had some delays due to a number of tweaks to the game design, in order to make it as good as it could possibly be. Originally the game was to be released back in 2013 and was only going to be on Xbox 360, but with the addition of also having Xbox One for the launch, that took longer. With the Xbox One, the team have been working on ‘jokey voice commands,’ to have some fun shouting out at your console for your characters to react to, though that feature may not be guaranteed.
Super Time Force brings you five characters to this action filled game involving time travel, which all of them have their own abilities that make them unique. There is Zackasaurus who is a dinosaur, Jef Leppard who uses a bazooka, Aimy McKillin who uses the sniper rifle, Jean Rambois who used the machine gun, and Shieldy Blockerson who by his name has the ability of the shield. The player has an ability of their own while playing the characters called time out, which allows you to pause time and go back to what you have already done in the past. This ability allows you to meet your past self and resume the action to play along the side of yourself.
Capybara Games also has a rogue-like adventure game called Below, which will be on both steam and Xbox One, and they are hoping to be released sometime later in 2014 and it was at PAX East 2014 for others to experience and play.
