Fans of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Resident Evil may be happy to hear that the games will be featuring a rather interesting crossover soon. According to Gamespot, several characters from the Resident Evil series will be entering the Spirit board and replacing the Pokémon spirits that are currently on the spirit board. Nintendo Versus also released a Tweet yesterday afternoon explaining the crossover event.
As is stated in the Nintendo Versus Tweet, players will be able to battle against fighters possessed by these characters in order to claim their spirits for five days, starting on November 29th. Because Leon is entering the Smash Bros. arena as a spirit, it is unlikely that he will is the fifth DLC character that fans have been waiting for. It is possible that Resident Evil will see one character coming to Smash Bros. as the game has included several DLC characters already such as Persona 5‘s Joker, Dragon Quest‘s Hero, Banjo Kazooie, and SNK’s Terry Bogard. The roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate won’t stop once the DLC support ends. According to Gamespot, Nintendo intends to keep adding characters to the roster even after the DLC support ends.
Resident Evil has received two remakes so far with the second game Resident Evil 2 receiving a lot of success. However, back on November 22nd, Capcom is reportedly in development of a third remake for the Resident Evil Series. The remake, titled Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is supposed to be scheduled for a 2020 release date. The Super Smash Bros. Crossover will be taking place in two days from November 29th to December 2nd and will feature Chris, Leon, Wesker, and Jill, so gamers should be prepared to fight for the prizes awaiting them.
