Nintendo has revealed that a new Nintendo Direct will be coming this week on Thursday, November 1. The Direct will focus on the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, containing “roughly 40 minutes of new information.” A Nintendo Treehouse: Live Presentation will follow after the Nintendo Direct. This will be the last Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before the game’s release in early December.
As stated in the tweet, the Nintendo Direct will be hosted by game director Masahiro Sakurai. The Nintendo Treehouse: Live Presentation will showcase more of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as well as new looks at Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go Evee!, Yoshi’s Crafted World, and Diablo III: Eternal Collection.
The previous Nintendo Direct revealed that Isabelle from Animal Crossing will be joining the roster. While Nintendo hasn’t said specifically what they will be showcasing, it would probably new mechanics, game modes that have yet to be revealed, or new additions to the roster, which has been the norm for these announcements. However, many are probably waiting to see if the recent roster leak is real or not which includes a certain character who hates and steals Christmas. Either way, the roster is filled with characters from the franchise’s history as well as unexpected additions, so this will be the most packed entry yet. In typical fashion, we’ll just have to wait and see.
A bundle was announced that is set to release on November 2, and will come with special joy-cons and a special dock. The joy-cons will have the Super Smash Bros. logo emblazoned on it while the dock will be decked out with characters from the original roster. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches on December 7.
