Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, and More Announced During Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct

Nintendo is celebrating the 35th Anniversary of their Super Mario Bros. franchise with several upcoming products and events. Fans will have the chance to play the very first Super Mario Bros. released on NES in 1985, on the special Game & Watch system with a Plus Control Pad included. As a nod the 35th anniversary, it comes with 35 touches for players to discover in the Game & Watch clock system. This collectors pack will be released on November 13th with other features like Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels and an updated version of Game & Watch: Ball starring Mario. Fans will also be showered with new and retro Super Mario Bros. games coming to the Nintendo Switch family of systems.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be available starting September 18th until approximately March 31st, 2021. The package includes optimized versions of 3D Mario titles, including Super Mario 64Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy for Switch systems. The Super Mario All-Stars package brings all the classic non-3D games like Super Mario Bros.Super Mario Bros.: The Lost LevelsSuper Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3 with enhanced 16-bit graphics. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is a real-world version of Mario Kart that uses an actual physical Kart to bring a live experience to Switch and Switch Lite users. The Kart responds to in-game mechanics such as boosts, and items like red shells and bananas.

Nintendo is also coming out with a new version of Super Mario Bros. that features 35 players titled Super Mario Bros. 35. It’s a competitive online battle game where players battle it out to be the last Mario standing, where defeated enemies are sent to other competitors courses. The game is digital-only and is available until March 31, 2021 exclusively  to Nintendo Switch Online members. All Switch users can purchase Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, an enhanced version of Super Mario 3D World released originally on the Wii-U. New features will be reveled when the game launches on February 12, 2021 alongside new Amiibo figures for Cat Mario and Cat Peach.

Speaking of figures, a new It’s-a-Me, Mario action figure from JAKKS Pacific is now available at retailers worldwide. Other announced products include Jenga Super Mario and Monopoly Super Mario Celebration from Hasbro, available now. Apparel inspired by Super Mario is coming to BlackMilkClothing.com starting at 5 p.m. ET on Oct. 5. PUMA RS-Dreamer Super Mario 64 basketball shoes launch tomorrow September 4th, exclusively at Foot Locker, Champs Sports, PUMA stores and Puma.com. LEGO has multiple Super Mario inspired products available now, like the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System and multiple LEGO Super Mario sets.

In terms of events, Nintendo has planned out many ways to celebrate the 35th anniversary Super Mario Bros., spanning all the way to March 2021. There will be aSuper Mario Kart Tour event beginning Sept. 8th at 11 p.m Pacific until Sept. 22 at 11 p.m Pacific, then later this year, a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in-game online tournament will also be hosted. During the month of November, a 35th anniversary-themed Ninji Speedruns course is coming to the Super Mario Maker 2 and historical Super Mario items and 35th anniversary-themed merchandise will be available for purchase at the Nintendo NY store and store.nintendo.com. Next year, A Super Mario themed Splatfest is coming to Splatoon 2 in January and Super Mario themed furniture will be available in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game in March. Until March 31st, 2021, fans who complete Super Mario related missions on My Nintendo will have an opportunity to earn rewards, including a special pin set.
