It’s been a while since we last heard anything in regard to the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster. Now going by the infinite name of Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars, the collection was initially given a time frame release for sometime in 2023. Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll have to wait just a bit longer for this one. Konami has officially announced that the set has been delayed, and will no longer launch in 2023. In addition, the company did not give a new date or time frame, putting the launch of the collection into an indefinite state, at least for the time being.

As you can see in the post above, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars was set to come out sometime this year. However, it appears that Konami feels that more work is necessary in order to bring out the collection in a much more refined state. This was emphasized then they says that “additional time is needed to ensure the quality performance and gameplay experience our users deserve.” Konami also added that they would share more information as soon as possible.
Despite not having a new date or time frame, Konami still intends to release this collection. Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars was initially leaked through various regional ratings boards before being officially revealed during the Tokyo Game Show 2022. It collects the first two entries in the fabled Suikoden JRPG franchise, which originally launched in 1995 and 1998 respectively. Both titles feature enhanced graphics, updated pixel art, new environmental sound effects, a fast-forward feature for battles, and an auto-save function, which is a godsend for an hours-long adventure.
