Street Fighter’s Ken and Chun-Li are Guest Starring in SNK’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

In a move that was definitely more obvious than Cristiano Ronaldo coming to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, it’s looking like SNK’s latest entry into their fighting game series is getting a few more guest characters to round out their roster. This time in the form of Ken Master and Chun Li from Capcom’s iconic Street Fighter series.

There’s not exactly much to glean from the short 15 second clip presented here, no Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves theme song, no previews of their moves not even Ken shouting “Shoryuken!” just a 15 second clip showing Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui’s portraits next to Ken and Chun Li’s portraits from Street Fighter 6. Many fighting game players probably expect this, there have been many hints the past few months of Capcom being more and more open to future crossovers and SNK is an old friend. Terry and Mai were recently loaned out to Capcom to guest star in Street Fighter 6, with Terry having come out this week, so it’s only fair that SNK get two characters in return. The most shocking thing about this is probably that it’s Ken over Ryu, as Ryu is typically the go-to character for Capcom crossovers.

But all this seems to be a preamble to the next big project Capcom and SNK have on the horizon. While SNK’s Garou: City of the Wolves is set to release next year, many people are speculating that these constant crossovers between the two companies is setting up for another Capcom vs. SNK game, a CvS sequel would definitely shake things up a bit within the fighting game community, though both companies would have to be careful not to sap too many players from their latest releases. In any case, this will definitely be exciting to see moving forward, and Ken and Chun, while not the most exciting picks, are definitely going to still make waves.
