Across the various systems and ages, there have been 84 Street Fighter titles, that’s just Street Fighter, not any of the spin-offs, sequels or Street Fighter vs Tekken type games. There were 8 versions of Street Fighter IV, if anyone was wondering. Capcom will be releasing Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition this coming January, loaded with a grip of features that makes it stand out from the original version, but don’t worry, all of this content will come as a free update to anyone who already owns Street Fighter V.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition has quality of life improvements such as an updated UI, and in celebration of their 30 year anniversary, they’ve also included a gallery, so you can see art and read up on the history of one of the oldest fighting franchises in the industry.
Of course, this isn’t simply a cosmetic update, new features will include Extra Battle Mode, Arcade Mode, a second V-Trigger, which can change a character’s playstyle completely and Capcom has promised that’s only the beginning. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be available for PS4 and PC on January 16th, at the cost of 39.99 for newcomers.
