It’s only been a little more than a month but Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 is already being considered one of the best fighting games of the year. The title was highly anticipated ever since it was revealed, and it appears to have met those expectations and more. It has already surpassed more than one million players, and now it has reached an insane sales milestone. According to Capcom, Street Fighter 6 has now sold more than two million copies worldwide, and once again, state that the title has been readily available for a little more than a month.
In addition, and as was reported earlier, the franchise’s overall sales has now surpassed 50 million copies sold. With these new sales numbers for Street Fighter 6, that overall statistic has now gone up exponentially. This also puts the title on pace to outsell its predecessor by a longshot. Street Fighter V, which launched in early 2016, currently has lifetime units shipped at 7.2 million. Street Fighter 6 is already approaching that number at a very fast pace and we wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up reaching it before the end of the year.
Just like with the other milestone, Capcom is celebrating this one with an in-game gift. Those logging into the game should go to the news section and see a message that contains a ID Card photo mode frame as well as a Street Fighter 6 logo background for your use. Capcom has already begun to bolster the title with extra content, including the first DLC fighter for its first Season. Rashid is the first planned fighter to drop and will be released later this month on July 24.
