Street Fighter 5 To Be Broadcasted On ESPN

ESPN is responsible for the creation and presentation of sporting championships of all shapes and sizes; This time around, viewers will be glued to the Street Fighter V World Championship.

According to Gamespot, this epic battle will be held at Evo, the Evolution Championship Series in Las Vegas from July 15th-17th. Video game fans are in luck because if unable to make the series, they will have the option of watching the competition live on ESPN2 and WatchESPN, ESPN’s streaming service. According to ESPN’s public statements, the series has captured “unprecedented interest and popularity”. More people have entered into the competition in the few days it has been open, than in any other game in the past.

John Lasker from ESPN has mentioned that this fierce competition is a great deal of importance at this year’s Evo finals. There are said to be extremely driven and talented competitors that are looking to thrill an audience.

Esports continues its rapid growth as it seems ESPN will continue to make efforts in different avenues of gaming. From fighters, MMORPGs, all the way to FPS the world of Esports is changing in ways unimaginable a few years ago. More people are watching, more people are engaged and competitive gaming is continuing the climb to mainstream acceptance.
