From June 16th to June 22nd (10am), the Steam Summer Festival 2020 has announced hundreds of demo games to be available for gamers. There are, however, two mobile games that users need to try out before the end of this week. They are: Undying and Say No! More.
For all zombie fans, Undying should definitely be on your gameplay list. Though the game is not fully released yet, the demo is found here. In addition, the game is by the game developer VANIMALS and set to publish by the newly established SkyStone Games later this year.
As for the story, Undying is similar to the popular The Walking Dead series. As The Walking Dead encompasses a father-son narrative, Undying revolves around a mother Anling protecting her son Cody within the zombie world. Unfortunately, Anling is bitten and has little time left until she can secure safety for her son.
The uniqueness of this game, however, is Cody’s character growth and the evolution of the mother-son relationship. Users will be able to scavenge for resources, fight, cook, and craft within the game. These skill sets can be later passed on to Cody, which allows him to be less dependent on his mother and support her humanity withers away. If you are interested in more information about the game and how it works, you can check out their website, Twitter account, or Discord server.
Say No! More is another narrative-driven demo, however, is far different to Undying. Users play as an intern, who is constantly bullied by office employees. As toxic coworkers continue to pile up office errands and paperwork, the intern continued to say “yes” to every ridiculous work they want her to do. In a world where saying “no” to your superiors deters professional opportunities, she continues to act this way until she finds a cassette tape titled Say No! More.
When she listens to the tape, it finally encourages her to defend herself by air cannoning “No!” to those who bully her. Blasting the workers off their feet, users can strengthen their No! blasts by finding more cassette tapes to end her superiors’ reign of evil once and for all. Through this humorous and enjoyable concept, users may expect satisfaction by virtually blowing off some steam on the bullies in the office.
According to the German game developers Studio Fizbin, the game is based on their own experience of not being able to say No! to their coworkers. The focus of the game is to learn more about the power of friendship and inspire users to say No! to bullies. If you are interested in knowing more about the game, you can check out their website or play the demo on Steam available until June 22nd (10am).
