

As this Summer grew nearer, we got a sense of what we would be expecting when it came time for everyone in the industry to share what’s coming next. What we didn’t know until the day before was that PlayStation was also planning something. With that, here is everything that was revealed during the State of Play.
Lumines Arise is the next iteration in the iconic puzzle series. The game launches later this year for PS5 and is compatible for PS VR2. It will include 30 flow-state inducing stages, from lush jungles, oceans, to more electronic frontiers like the bustling streets of Tokyo and the endless expanse of outer space. Lumines Arise will also introduce a new Burst mechanic that amps up everything.
After its delay, Pragmata received a new gameplay trailer showcasing the game’s unique twist of action and strategy as players go back and forth between the protagonists, Hugh and Diana.
Romeo is a Dead Man is the next title from Grasshopper Manufacture. Players take on the role of Romeo Stargazer, a man stuck between life and death who has the task of chasing space-time’s most wanted fugitives as FBI special agent Dead Man. Throughout the game, Dead Man will fight using guns, swords, and even enemies’ own powers against them.
A new gameplay trailer was released for the upcoming new Silent Hill title, Silent Hill f. The new trailer focuses on protagonist Shimizu Hinako’s perilous journey as the high schooler’s hometown is engulfed in fog, and the dangers within will have her fighting for her life. Silent Hill f launches on September 25, 2025.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement follows heroes Leo and Alex as they join forces to explore the massive Etheral Castle and tackle its fearsome inhabitants. In the 2.5D side-scrolling action RPG, players will be able to switch between the two at the press of a button, which allows players to leverage Leo and Alex’s distinct abilities.
A new trailer for Digimon Story: Time Stranger focuses on the game’s story and reveals more of its vibrant characters and highlights the variety of Digimon growth and customization. The game is set to launch on October 3, 2025.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is an enhanced version of the beloved Final Fantasy title which originally released back in 1997. This new version fully voiced dialogue, optimized and updated UI, graphical improvements, and a number of other quality of life features features.
Baby Steps, possibly the weirdest walking simulator yet (in a good way) is set to release this year on September 8. The game features a very unique traversal mechanic as the player is tasked with leading protagonist Nate to answer the call of nature.
Hirogami is an origami-inspired 3D action platformer coming to PS5 on September 3. Players will explore a beautiful but fragile origami world as Hiro, a master of the art of ‘folding’, and take on animal forms to traverse the landscape, solve puzzles, overcome enemies, and save the realm from a deadly digital threat.
Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots is set to release later this year on September 5. The trailer reveals that Pac-Man will be an available as an early unlockable character as a pre-order bonus.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound modernizes the unforgiving action-platforming formula with the fast-paced and exhilarating action The Game Kitchen (Blasphemous I & II) is known for. The new side-scrolling entry to the acclaimed series, releases on July 31 on PS5 and PS4.
Cairn, the survival-climber that puts a very heavy emphasis on climbing is set to launch to PS5 on November 5. Players will have to consider their path and climb anywhere on the mountain, managing their endurance and resources to survive.
Digital Eclipse and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are teaming up together for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. The game features multiple playable games from the early days of the franchise as will as interactive documentaries. Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection promises to be the most comprehensive, detailed look at the franchise’s history ever assembled.
A new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater showcases Naked Snake’s battles with the various members of the Cobra Unit. The footage also features footage of Snake vs. Monkey, which will make its return when the game launches on August 28.
Developer Team Ninja has revealed its return to the Nioh franchise with the next installment. For Nioh 3, the developer is introducing two distinct combat styles that players can fight with: Samuari and Ninja. The Samuari style harkens back to previous Nioh titles. The new Ninja style excels in quick movements like dodging and aerial actions. Players will be able to switch between both styles at any time. A limited time demo is available for players to try on the PlayStation Store.
Thief is sneaking its way in a new style with Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow. Players will enter the shoes of Magpie, a cunning thief orphaned by Northcrest’s brutality and shaped by the streets. Players will use PS VR2 mechanics to steal, evade, and outsmart the forces controlling The City. Move between shadows, and extinguish light sources with water arrows, hands or even a well-aimed breath to remain undetected.
Tides of Tomorrow is a asynchronous multiplayer, oceanic adventure, coming to PS5 February 24, 2026. Tides of Tomorrow’s vibrant post-apocalyptic world interweaves your choices and a previous player’s decisions for a truly unique experience. You’ll see echoes of that player’s choices and actions, that will help you avoid traps, solve puzzles, investigate what happened before, or simply adapt based on the other player’s actions.
Five new levels are coming to Astro Bot this Summer. As with every level, the new Vicious Void Galaxy levels will require every bit of skill to complete. In addition, these new levels will introduce their own special bots. An updated smiley version of the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller is set to launch later this year too.
Sea of Remnants has a unique world puppetfolk exploring the open sea and its secrets in oceanic action. Players will form a specialized crew to answer any challenge that lies beyond the horizon, upgrade your ship to ride out any storm and return home with your spoils to Orbtopia, a pirate city that’ll evolve based on your swashbuckling decisions.
Giant Squid’s new title Sword of the Sea is launching on PS5 on August 19. In addition, the game will be releasing as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup.
Along with Sword of the Sea coming August 19 as part of the Game Catalog lineup (more on that further down), there were new titles announced coming to PlayStation Plus. The PS2 version of immersive sci-fi sim Deus Ex joins Game Catalog June 17, Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal 4 come to the PlayStation Plus Premium’s Classics range July 15. Later this summer, the original PlayStation versions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis also come to PlayStation Plus Premium’s Classics range.
After officially revealing the game’s title, developer IOI Interactive has released the first official trailer for 007: First Light. IOI’s third-person action-adventure features a new James Bond origin story. Players will discover the events that lead a young maverick to become the best MI6 agent and the world’s most iconic spy when the game launches next year.
