PlayStation has been relatively quiet so far this year but today they have announced that State of Play is set to return for its first show of 2023. State of Play will return in a couple of days on Thursday, February 23. On the PlayStation Blog, they said that this State of Play will focus on third-party titles, a set of PlayStation VR2 games, and the first extended look at the next game from Rocksteady Studios, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Brett Elston, Senior Manager, Content Communications, SIE said “State of Play returns with its first show of 2023! Get ready for new looks at some anticipated games from our third-party partners, as well as a first glimpse at five PlayStation VR2 games set to arrive later this year. Then, settle in for more than 15 minutes of all-new gameplay details and updates on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the next game from Rocksteady Studios.”
So far, we’ve gotten a gameplay trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and several story trailers. There was also a leak that may have revealed that the game will have games as service elements. The last thing that was shown was at The Game Awards last year where it was revealed that the late Kevin Conroy will be reprising his iconic role as Batman for the last time.
In addition to Sony announcing a first glimpse at five PlayStation VR2 titles, They also announced 10 new PS VR2 titles set to release in the near future. The 10 games revealed include Another Fisherman’s Tale, Gorn, Nock: Bow + Arrow Soccer, Hellsweeper VR, Ragnarock, Runner, Startenders: Intergalactic Bartending, Sushi Ben, Swordsman VR, and Unplugged: Air Guitar. This brings the PS VR2 launch window lineup to more than 40 games, with more arriving throughout the year. PlayStation VR2 launches tomorrow, February 23, 2023.
