Starfield Surpasses 6 Million Players, Now the Biggest Bethesda Game Launch of All Time

Bethesda’s massive space odyssey Starfield is now officially available for anyone and everyone to play. The title’s actual launch, which was earlier this week September 6, marked one of the most anticipated releases of the year. While it had a bit of a mixed reception during its Early Access weekend, this did not stop th masses from jumping into the studio’s newest IP. According to Bethesda, Starfield has now surpassed more than six million players since launching, which makes it the biggest Bethesda title launch of all time.

Considering that this is the same studio that owns the IP for The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, both of which has a long history of accumulating a plethora of players at any point in time, this is a massive achievement for the title. On the launch day alone, Starfield managed to amass more than one million players, which would be a major milestone for any given franchise. If these initial numbers are an indication, then we could be seeing some serious statistics before the end of 2023, maybe in the best-selling category too.

On top of that, and because this is a Bethesda game that uses the famous Creation Engine, PC modders have been hard at work creating an insane amount of mods that only add the overall experience. In addition, there is sure to be even more content added by the studio as we progress through the year and beyond. When all is said and done, regardless of how you feel about the title, Starfield is one of the biggest successes of 2023 thus far, making the five plus year wait well worth it for Bethesda.

Starfield is now available for the Xbox Series X/Series S and PC.
