Star Wars: Outlaws planets are supposedly the size of an entire Assassin’s Creed game but are nonetheless uncluttered. This means players will not have to worry about the game being an over-bloated RPG they’ll never finish as developers promise the game won’t exceed 300+ hours which would otherwise make it seemingly unfinishable.
The upcoming Star Wars: Outlaws is stated by developers to be “more manageable than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey with less map clutter.” Although the notion that a single planet in Star Wars: Outlaws will be the size of two zones in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is horrifying, developers assure the game is altogether cohesive and exciting from beginning to end.
In July 5th Interview, and during San Diego Comic-Con, Outlaws creative director Julian Geirighty was quoted in saying that planets displayed in the game “might be [equivalent to] two of the zones in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.” We don’t yet know just how many planets the game will include, but there’s little doubt that Outlaws’ galaxy will be vast indeed.” Additionally, Geirighty was quoted in saying, “Our objective is to really get people into a very dense, rich adventure, open world adventure that they can explore at their own rhythm.”
Geirighty then goes on to say, “So it is absolutely not a 200 or 300-hour epic unfinishable RPG. This is a very focused action-adventure RPG that will take people on a ride and is very manageable.”
Continually, narrative director David Khavari mirrored Geirrighty’s sentiment by saying, “I think our job is to make sure that the player organizes their experience according to their desires.” Khavari then finishes with, “That’s one of the big pluses with an open-world game is the agency of the player. So if we do our job right, it’ll be so dense and so rich with different distractions that we won’t have to rely on so many UI indications for them.”
Star Wars: Outlaws is described as an open-world action-adventure game and is one of Ubisoft’s largest games to date. The sheer scope of the game is almost unimaginable but developers and creative minds alike on Ubisoft’s team feel the game is as enjoyable and beautiful as it is large and ambitious.
