Blaze Entertainment has announced 12 new games coming in 2023, completing their 2023 cartridge line-up. The four-new cartridge collections was revealed as part of the Evercade Showcase Vol. 2. Coming in 2023 is Evercade’s first ever single game cartridge, the Home Computer Heroes Collection 1, and 2 “Dual Cart” titles
Evercade’s first ever single game cartridge is Full Void from OutOfTheBit – a wonderful cinematic 2D platformer giving nods to other great retro titles like Another World. This will be the first physical release for the game which released last week on Steam. The game will come with a full color manual and an included prologue comic which furthers the game’s plot. The cartridge will cost £17.99|$19.99|€19.99 and will be released in October 2023. Pre-orders will open on August 1, 2023.
In celebration of Full Void being the company’s first single game cartridge, Blaze Entertainment has created the Evercade Full Void Special Edition. The Special Edition is available at select retailers and comes with an exclusive blue cartridge and Special Edition cart inlay, stickers, a double-sided poster, and an exclusive artbook of the beautiful hand-drawn environments and animations created for the game. The Special Edition costs £24.99|$29.99|€29.99 and will also be released in October 2023 with preorders also opening tomorrow, August 1, 2023.
Home Computer Heroes Collection 1 is fully focused on modern retro indie games that have been made specifically for home computers including the C64, Amiga, and MSX2. The 7 games on this collection come from a mixture of YouTube personalities, passionate programmers, game jam projects and even a AAA gaming side project. Those games are The Attack of the PETSCII Robots, Bridge Strike, Citadel Remonstered, Farming Simulator C64 Edition, Planet X2, The Sword of Ianna, and Tanks Furry. This cartridge costs £17.99|$19.99|€19.99 and releases in October 2023. Pre-orders open August 1, 2023.
Blaze Entertainment is releasing 2 collections from its Dual Cart range. The first is Goodboy Galaxy and Witch n’ Wiz. Goodboy Galaxy is a 32-bit handheld game that features a literal good boy. Protagonist Maxwell is on a mission to save his home. Witch n’ Wiz is an 8-bit puzzler where you try to save your best friend from an evil sorceress.
The second dual cartridge consists of Demons of Asteborg and Astebros. Both games are made specifically for 16-bit home consoles and feature Metroidvania and dungeon-crawler mechanics. Demons of Asteborg brings boss battles and more in a huge fantasy world. Astebros brings single and multiplayer dungeon crawling in a procedurally generated world. Both cartridges cost £17.99|$19.99|€19.99 each and will be released in December 2023. Pre-orders begin in September 2023.
Evercade also announced the return of the popular Game of the Month feature. A brand new indie game will be released every month to Evercade VS and EXP. They also announced that all of 2023’s games will be released in a physical collection in early 2024. This will continue next year.
