If you have been waiting for the Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl game then get ready because the game is still on track for a 2024 release. The update was announced on November 3oth during an acceptance speech for the “Most Wanted 2023” by GSC Game World CEO Yevhen Grygorovych at the PC Gaming Show.
In the video announcement, The CEO Yevhen Grygorovych had this to say:
Firstly, Its about you, our fans. Many years ago, When the journey we had planned concluded you refused to leave the Zone. You enriched it with stories, love and life, Ensuring the legacy Continues through the years. You’ve shown us that there are still goals to achieve and stories to tell. Your Passion has guided us throughout the journey and I can never express enough gratitude for that.
In his speech, Yevhen says that the game has gone into “the final phase of development. Fellow stalkers will soon reunite in the Zone once again”. After the speech, they showed the “story trailer” for the game. at the end of the trailer, it says Q1 2024 which is the first half of 2024, and that the game can be preordered now. The trailer also reminds players that the game will be available for Steam, Xbox series X/S, and Xbox Game Pass.
Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl has been dealt with several setbacks which has caused the release date to be pushed back several times. The original release date for this game was April 2022. However, the game’s release date was changed to December 2022 due to development issues. Then Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl “was further delayed” due to the War in Ukraine. GSC Game World who developed this game is Ukrainian-based gaming developer. Eventually, they had to relocate from Kyiv, Ukraine to the Czech Republic. They kept working on the game through war, even putting out a Stalker 2 Dev Diary. It was also thought that the game was going to be released in December of this year because a potential December release date was leaked by the “Plaion Media Store“.
Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl is not the first game in this game series. Stalker: Shadow Of Chernobyl was released in 2007 while Stalker: Clear Sky was launched in 2008. In 2009 GSC Game World would go on and release Stalker: Call Of Pripyat.
