Stadia Pro Members Getting Rise Of The Tomb Raider & Thumper To Start 2020

Today, Google has announced that Stadia Pro members can look forward to getting Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration and Thumper for free as part of their Stadia Pro subscription. Both titles will be available on January 1, 2020. Google’s announcement reads:

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration comes to Stadia Pro on January 1. Lara Croft’s second modern-day adventure is even deeper and more thrilling than her first as she races against insidious forces on a quest to uncover the secrets of everlasting life.

Also headed to Stadia Pro is Thumper, the rhytm game of beautiful destruction. Guide your space beetle at terrifying speeds across gorgeous, threatening vistas as you shake and break your way through enemies while racing to the ever present beat.

Both Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration and Thumper will be ready to claim on Stadia Pro on January 1.

Google also mentions that the first game in the recent Tomb Raider trilogy, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will be leaving Stadia Pro at 9 AM PT on December 31, 2019. Stadia Pro members can claim the game before it leaves and will be available in their library as long as they are a Stadia Pro subscriber.

Along with Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Destiny 2: The Collection, Farming Simulator 19: Platinum Edition and Samurai Shodown are available for free for Stadia Pro members. These three games will still be available to claim at the start of the new year.

A Stadia Pro subscription costs $9.99. In addition to the free games, being a Stadia Pro member grants access to streaming in 4k/60 fps with 5.1 surround sound. The Stadia Pro subscription also gives members discounts on game purchases.

Recently, Google announced that Stadia players can now earn achievements and several new games became available on the platform including Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Dragonball Xenoverse 2, and Borderlands 3. Unfortunately, Stadia players who acquired Borderlands 3 are actually getting an older version of the game which means certain updates and content are not available right now. This includes the recently released campaign add-on for the game, Moxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot.

Content issues around Borderlands 3 is a continuation of certain problems with games on Stadia that are being pointed out by consumers. Stadia users also realized that certain games like Red Dead Redemption II and Destiny 2: The Collection are not streaming in 4k/60 fps as they were supposed to.
