Square Enix Reveals “The Forge”, the First of Seven DLC’s for Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Haven’t gotten enough of raiding tombs yet? Good, neither has Square Enix. As they, along with Eidos-Montréal and Crystal Dynamics, have finally revealed the first DLC Content for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, simply known as “The Forge”.

This is the first of seven DLCs that will be coming out monthly so players are given new experiences in single and co-op modes. They will have new challenge tombs and the opportunity to obtain new weapons, outfits, Score and Time Attack modes, and more side narrative missions. These will intertwine with creating a deeper story between friends and rivals from within the game.

This new DLC will have a new bonus tomb that brings the game “The Floor is Lava” to a whole new level. What’s in store for Lara? A lava covered forge from the old fallen gods, and many, many secrets that she will uncover about Kuwaq Yaku.

Though it seems it’s not just the secrets about Kuwaq Yaku that Lara will discover, as a friend’s ancient past will come up and pose a challenge for her. That and, as the developers describe, a “danger long thought to be lost in flame.” This could mean anything, but it’s sure to have something wild and exciting in store. And probably something on fire.

For finishing this first DLC, players will receive the Grenadier skill, the Broken outfit, and the Umbrage 3-80 weapon. This, of course, will be the first three rewards players will get as the next seven months (and seven DLCs) will bring more items, skills, and outfits.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Season Pass for the upcoming DLC’s is available for $29.99. Or you can purchase “The Forge” for $4.99 when it comes out for PC, PS4, and Xbox One worldwide on November 13.

Though, I would suggest leaving the swimsuit at home.
