Square Enix seems to be having much success with retooling their most popular games for current-gen expectations, as evidenced by their re-releasing of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Tomb Raider, and Sleeping Dogs with shinier graphics, add-on content and everything in between. The latest offering from them is the ridiculously titled Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, and to build anticipation for its PS3-exclusive December launch, Square Enix have put out a new trailer.
The trailer, titled “Introducing the Magic,” gives a quick overview of the plot surrounding the beloved Kingdom Hearts series, as well as a taste of the compilation’s remastered HD graphics:
ReMIX contains Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and Kingdom Hearts Re: coded. These are all updated versions of the original games, which in turn have been updated again for this HD 2.5 ReMIX release with the standard HD graphics many gamers expect today.
Shinier graphics aside, Kingdom Hearts fans throughout the world will have much reason to look forward to this compilation, as the final mix versions of KH II and Birth by Sleep have never been released outside of Japan since they were originally released in 2007 and 2011. Both versions contain English audio combined with Japanese text, as well as additional scenes and gameplay elements.
ReMIX has already been released in Japan, and will arrive in North America, Australia and Europe on December 2, 4 and 5 respectively for the PlayStation 3. Preorders will include an official Disney Collector’s Pin.
