Square Enix & People Can Fly Officially Reveal Outriders With New Trailer

Announced during Square Enix’s E3 conference at E3 2019, not much was known about Outriders, the next game from People Can Fly, developers of Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment. They shared CGI trailer during the conference and talked about their plans for the game in a dev diary. Today, they have officially revealed a little more information with a new trailer showing off gameplay.

People Can Fly said: “After months of hard work, we’re finally ready to reveal new information about our upcoming game – OUTRIDERS. Thank you for your patience as we at People Can Fly, in cooperation with Square Enix and Square Enix External Studios, are doing our best to fully realize our most ambitious project to date. OUTRIDERS is a co-op RPG shooter for a new generation set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe.”

The developers also said: “We are creating a game with traditional videogame sensibilities; we’re going to give you intense, hard-hitting combat, deep RPG mechanics and a compelling story. We are not a games as a service title. There not be loot boxes or no pay to win scenarios. Players will be getting a complete experience out of the box. At People Can Fly, we have become experts in creating shooters over the last two decades, but we always really loved RPG’s. Outriders isn’t just a shooter with some RPG elements included, this is first and foremost, an RPG. Only instead of turnbased or active time battles, the combat system is a top tier shooter. Outriders is the game we always wanted to make; a game with the intensity of a shooter and the depth of an RPG.”

In the game, players will create their own Outrider and go on a journey across the hostile planet, Enoch. Throughout the diverse world of Enoch, players will “leave behind  the slums and shantytowns of the First City and traverse forests, mountains, and deserts in pursuit of a mysterious signal.”

Outriders combines “intense gunplay with violent powers along with an arsenal of increasingly twisted weaponry and gear-sets” to offer players countless hours of gameplay.

More information is set to be revealed Thursday, February 13 at 12:00 pm PT/ 8:00 pm GMT/ 9:00 pm CET on Square Enix’s official Twitch channel. The reveal stream will feature Game Director, Bartek Kmita and Lead Writer, Joshua Rubin.

Outriders is set to release Holiday 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
