Square Enix London Mobile (SELM) has recently revealed through a tweet that it is developing a new unnamed RPG for mobile devices. The social media post requested participants in a Closed Beta test without mention of its title or genre. A release date has not been disclosed.
The only information about the upcoming mobile title is that it will be an RPG, which is what Square Enix is best known for. To sign up for the test, volunteers will need to take a short survey asking for a full name, contact information, country of residence, English fluency and phone model. If chosen, an email will be sent to them with a link for the test. Until then, the public can only speculate on what the game will be like. Considering Square Enix’s reputation for RPG games such as Final Fantasy, it can be expected to be fresh and exciting.

Square Enix had revealed SELM late last year as a division meant for focusing on free-to-play games for Android and Apple iOS devices. With that announcement came the unveiling of updates on two of its titles, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Tomb Raider Reloaded. The latter is expected to release sometime in 2022 under development by Emerald City Games. Tomb Raider Reloaded will be the first of its kind to feature roguelike gameplay. According to SELM’s official website, the studio is keen on “keeping some things under wraps”, but has announced their Avatar and Tomb Raider games. Since the studio revealed the titles of these 2 games, it is likely the closed beta may not concern either of these.
