Square Enix has put up a countdown on its Japanese site for the upcoming game Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius. The countdown ends June 27th at 9 pm JST. After the countdown has completed a special and large scale announcement about Final Fantasy will be streamed via NicoVideo live on the website. Along with this announcement there will be updates about Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius. These updates will occur by the end of June. The broadcast will open up at 8:50 and will officially begin at 9.
The new RPG in the style of the classic Final Fantasy games is a mobile game developed by A-Lim, developer of the mobile JRPG, Brave Frontier. This game is a spin-off of the Final Fantasy series, borrowing elements from the early turn based RPG era of Final Fantasy to create a pixelated homage to the glory days of the franchise. The gameplay for Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius revolves around a simplified for mobile combat system where players attack via pushing buttons corresponding to each character in their party’s attack. These include special attacks, summons, limit breaks, spells, etc. Experience is gained as the payer advanced through stages and bosses collecting loot. The game also includes world exploration, allowing the player to roam towns and interact with the different areas. Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius is also said to include heroes from previous games in the beloved franchise. The game essentially brings Final Fantasy to the roots of the JRPG. Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius has so far been incredibly successful in its native Japan since its October 2015 release. There is also currently a pre-registration campaign and a beta for the western version of the game in Sweden.
Final Fantasty: Brave Exvius is already available for iOS and Android in Japan and a release for the west us due out this summer. A trailer for Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius can be seen below.
