Square Enix Collective Will Publish The Turing Test on Steam

In a press release, Square Enix Collective announced that they will be publishing The Turing Test on Steam this August. The game will also be released at the same time for Xbox One, which will be published directly by Microsoft.

The Turing Test is a first-person adventure puzzle game developed by British studio Bulkhead Interactive. The game focuses on Ava Turing, an engineer for the International Space Agency (ISA), and the player must “uncover the truth” behind a research base on Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons. In order to solve puzzles, players must use their “EMT,” or Energy Manipulation Tool. Power can be transferred from one object to another, which allows the player to “take control of artificially intelligent machines, manipulate giant structures, and solve complex tasks – all woven into a multi-layered story based on the human struggle for control.

“I’m very excited to be working with the Bulkhead Interactive team,” said Square Enix Collective creator and project lead Phil Elliott. “It’s our aim to support new development talent in a range of ways, and it’s already clear that this team is destined to have a big impact on the industry in the future.” Howard Philpott, creative producer at Bulkhead, said that the studio is “excited to be a part of Square Enix’s plans for the future of the industry.” He also noted that:

For us at Bulkhead, they’ve opened many doors that wouldn’t have been accessible to us without their connections or years of experience in publishing games. They’ve given us the opportunity to make The Turing Test a more solid, polished, and ultimately an all-around better game.

The Turing Test will be featured in the Square Enix Collective range at EGX Rezzed, which takes place in London from April 7-9.

Bulkhead is known for their previous game Pneuma: Breath of Life, and recently conducted a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund their next project, Battalion 1944. The campaign was funded at 317% of the original goal, and the game is expected to be released in 2017.

The game’s website features some stunning shots from the game thus far – below are a couple of standouts.
