Spyder: Agent 8 Crawls into Action This 2026

Spyder: Agent 8, a robot led spy game, joins the 2026 game squad. The developers Sumo Digital and PQube dropped an announcement trailer on YouTube and a demo on Steam earlier today, revealing this information and some game plots. While Spyder: Agent 8 doesn’t have a release date yet, with its imminent release this year, a release date announcement should be coming soon.

The Announcement trailer shows the tiny spider robot, who’s leading the game. In an old school spy introduction format, the trailer reveals a “Mission” available in a submarine below ground that’s being cut into by other robots. In that submarine houses Agent 8, a robot spider. This tiny mechanical spider robot is sent on a “Top Secret” mission. Just like a real spider it uses its legs to walk, and stick onto things, allowing it to hold and walk across metal and rubber, as well as grip items bigger than itself. It can also wander across and enter places no one will notice, with its extremely small body.

Of course, it isn’t a spy game without “gadgets,” as Agent 8’s equipped with what looks like an acid, or slime that helps push buttons, a laser that cuts through metal, an electric screwdriver, a grappling hook, a system connection point and possibly more. To complete the mission, Agent 8 has to get through “puzzles,” by putting items in their places, drawing lines, turning what looks like bolts and undoubtedly more. However, that isn’t all as Agent 8 has to “save the world” by stopping threats such as activating “firewalls,” and shooting “targets.”  All while avoiding dangers like fire trying to consume it, and walking on a spacecraft without being noticed. Spyder: Agent 8 will be on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox, Steam and Epic Games Store according to its trailer end page, and those interested can wishlist the upcoming game, play the demo version that’s out and follow their team for more updates.
