With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate unveiling its’ final DLC character, gamers are all wondering the same thing: Where do we go for character reveals now? Luckily, Fortnite has had more than its’ fair share of crazy character reveals, and they aren’t stopping anytime soon. These characters aren’t even limited to video-game worlds; literally, no pop-culture icon is safe from being put into Fortnite, from Street Fighter characters to major fashion brands to Ariana Grande (yes, you can play as the real-life human Ariana Grande in Fortnite). Recently, a few more characters have been announced for the game to get everyone into the Halloween spirit.
“The Walking Dead’s” Rick Grimes will be coming to the game as a new playable character for the game’s “Fortnightmares” event. Rick will be joining two of his costars, Michonne and Daryll Dixon, as the third “Walking Dead” character to join the roster. As IGN reports, Players can purchase the Rick Grimes skin for 1,500 V-bucks, the skin with all accessories for 1,900 V-bucks and the whole gang for 2,500 along with all their accompanying items. Although I think being able to play as Andrew Lincoln (the actor portraying Rick) in Fortnite is terrifying in a wholly different way than the game probably intends, there are some more spooky newcomers that fit the “nightmare” moniker a bit better.
IGN reports that both Frankenstein and the Mummy will be coming to the game as skins. These classic movie monsters come as part of a deal between Epic and Universal Pictures. Joining these iconic monsters is a newer addition: Tom Hardy’s Venom has also been added to the game. What’s even stranger is that the skin swaps between the cool, monstrous symbiote form and… well… Tom Hardy in a football jersey.
Apples. Cabbages. Chickens. Floppers. So many snacks, so little time.

As part of the “Fortnightmares” event, more costumes will continue to be unveiled and released as October goes on, so stay tuned for even more crossover madness. Mark my words, we haven’t seen anything yet.
