Developer Spiders Studios announced today that Bound by Flame, an action role-playing game, will be released on May 9th. It will arrive on PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.
Bound by Flame is a classic heroic fantasy RPG action game that has you playing as a mercenary named Vulcan, who is possessed by a demon in flames and features monsters such as dragons, ice creatures, and undeads. In the grasp of the demon, you must pick sides between the demonic power within you, or walk a more righteous path. Should you choose to be more righteous, you must repel the demonic influence and develop truly heroic skills as you hunt down evil wizards. As you face more dangers and enemies, it’ll bring more temptation to go towards your demon soul that posses you in order to gain more power, which will give more physical transformation as the demon gains more of your soul.
The game offers a freedom of action and choice throughout the adventure, where interacting with your demon influence your character and story. Your allies will change depending on the freedom you grant your demon and the amount of courage you decide to shed. Though if you lead more towards the demon inside, your companions may decide to leave you on the way if they dislike the person you become…or unless you decide to betray them!
As you complete quests, you gain some experience that enables you to develop your character. You have three talent trees martial techniques, fire magic, and the way of the shadow. What you choose will let you go from a skillful warrior, to a stealthy fighter, but if you choose the fire magic talent tree, you may be tempted to destroy enemies with your demon’s long-range fire magic spells.
Spiders is promising a new video highlighting the game’s combat, to be released sometime “in the coming weeks.”
