Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game Announced, Launching Exclusively Through Xbox Game Pass

Today, Xbox and Warner Bros. Pictures have announced and shared the first look at Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game based on the upcoming film. The game was developed by Digital Eclipse and was created from the ideas of two fans who won competitions that tasked fans with submitting their ideas for a Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game-inspired video game. The game is launching globally on July 1 exclusively into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks for a limited time.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks is a free benefit program that makes in-game add-ons, consumables, partner offers, and more available to Ultimate members. The game will be available free-to-play for all fans on Xbox on July 15.

Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game will be a classic beat ’em up that one of the fans suggested blended with game mechanics that the other fan suggested. The game is inspired by the upcoming live-action/animated film with deep reverence for the lively characters in Space Jam: A New Legacy and appreciation of the Tune Squad’s pop culture influence, all while reminiscent of the classic arcade games of the 1990s.

In Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game, Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, and Lebron James face the Goon Squad as they find themselves trapped inside the Warner Bros. server by a rogue artificial intelligence named Al G. Rhythm. The three characters from the Tune Squad have to search for the four pieces of the “Legacy Code” that will allow them to gain access to Al G. Rhythm’s secret location. As they’re searching, The Brow and White Mamba of the Goon Squad are trying to stop the Tune Squad in their tracks. Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, and Lebron James have access to a variety of moves, including a special basketball, and unique Space Jam cards to help them out.

In addition, to celebrate the film and upcoming game, three exclusive Xbox Wireless controllers inspired by Space jam: A New Legacy have been announced. These include Tune Squad which channels your inner Tune featuring Carrot Orange, one of Bugs Bunny’s favorite orange; Goon Squad makes you feel like a super cyber-baller, and Serververse allows players to step into the Warner 3000 entertainment Serververse. All of the controllers feature a hybrid D-pad and textured grip on the triggers, bumpers, and back case to help provide greater control and precision through every gaming session. The controllers also include the fan-favorite custom button mapping via the Xbox Accessories app.

Each controller retails for $69.99 and will be available on July 8 while supplies last. Goon Squad and Serververse will be available only in the U.S. at Amazon.com (while supplies last). Tune Squad will be available at Microsoft Store and third-party retailers in North America, APAC, LATAM, and EMEA.

Space Jam: A New Legacy will be released in theatres on July 16 and is available in the U.S. on HBO Max for 31 days from the theatrical release.
